​Introduction
Green Drinks International is an "organic, self-organizing network" focused on getting environmentally minded people together for drinks, food, and invigorating discussions. The idea is to generate dialogue based around environmental issues, to educate and learn from one another, and to share ideas on how to implement various sustainability programs in the local community.

Green Drinks events welcome anyone who is conscious about the environment and is interested to connect with people who have similar beliefs.

It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd. Be prepared to meet a diverse group of people who share your passion about the health of our planet!

Have a round of drinks, connect with like-minded people from your community and decide what you can do to take better care of the environment.

History
In 1989, at a pub called the Slug and Lettuce in North London, Edwin Datschefski was sitting with his green design colleagues Yorick Benjamin and Paul Scott when he noticed an enviro-minded acquaintance at a nearby table. As it turned out, the friend was sitting with a few of his own eco-conscious mates, so they pulled some tables together. And so a movement was born.

Now
Since it's birth in 1989, Green Drinks International has expanded to 51 cities in the United Kingdom, 400 in the United States, and much more across the globe. Currently, there are over 580 (588 to be exact) Green Drink chapters established worldwide.
